Three Pembroke High School students have advanced to the Massachusetts State Science Fair finals after winning top honors at the regional competition last month.
Seniors Maya Patel and Liam Chen earned first place in the environmental science category for their project on microplastic filtration in local ponds. Junior Sofia Ramirez placed second in biomedical engineering with a low-cost prosthetic hand prototype.
The state finals will be held May 23–24 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
